New Controller - philips hue in wall switch

Would it be possible to develop a blueprint for the philips hue in wall switch (https://www.zigbee2mqtt.io/devices/929003017102.html) by using zigbee2mqtt? Your blueprints are generally perfect and I would love to use it for the many in wall switches I have.

I may take a stab at this but need 2 things just to get started.

1. A snapshot for the device details page in zigbee2mqtt
2. A snapshot for the device details page in homeassistant under the mqtt integration.

However, I have researched this device and think I understand how it works.

The light that is behind the switch you are going to install this on, is it a smart zigbee light? If not, then this device won't work. It doesn't make dumb lights smart.

It is more or less like a remote which makes a dumb switch into smart. You don't even need to install the switch or connect power to it.

Correct; it is a smart zigbee switch controlled by a regular, old wall switch. It can control other smart ligths. It is somewhat like a zigbee remote. It does not work as a relais.

A few more questions.

What type of switch will you be putting this behind?

Will you be binding the device to a group of lights or just as is?

Are you familiar with listening to mqtt events?
If so, can you capture the events that are sent when you flip the switch up and down if regural rocker type switch or if the switch is a push button type switch?

Hi Yarafie,

The switches I use are momentary switches (dual push button). Currently I have no plans to directly bind the switch, but if possible this would be great. I'm hoping to have a momentary switch with a neutral status and up and down option. It would be great to have the option for a short push up to turn on and long push up to increase brightness.
I will send the MQTT events the coming days. Thanks!
