[Bug]: linode-cli linodes rebuild fails when config is unchanged

Expected Behavior

Should rebuild just like in the UI.

Actual Behavior

It fails.

lin linodes rebuild --image linode/ubuntu24.04 --type g6-standard-1 --authorized_users <username> --root_pass $(gum input --password) <linode id>, where the currently running machine matched the same image and type. If the redacted values are necessary for debugging, let me know a safe way for me to get them to you without publicly exposing them.

Hi again @theutz, this time I was able to reproduce the issue, thanks!

From what I understand, you can't rebuild an instance using the same "type" value. Please find more details here:

• rebuilding via UI, you can specify the "image" value only. To modify the "type" (plan) you need to use the "resize" option.
• rebuilding via CLI allows you to use both ("image" and "type") in a single command, but using the same "type" value as during instance creation will return information about already running service plan (as you mentioned above). So to rebuild the instance with CLI, you should use "image" only or - if both "image" and "type" used in the command - specify a different value for "type" than existing one.

Ah! So if I understand correctly, you're saying it's safe for me to just drop the type argument?

It is possible to skip the type argument in the command and then rebuilding process should start immediately. However, please be aware that it may cause a data loss. Please check a techdoc first, to get more details.
