Doesn't store any memories

The command is added to TUI but opencode doesn't store any memories at all. The plugin was added to both config files.

The memory can only be stored after compaction. If you see compaction with memory candidates but still no memories when you use TUI commend, please report it again. Please provide more information so I can help you. Thank you~

Yes, I've confirmed that it's NEVER storing any memories after compaction. Even when I literally mentioned remember this during a chat

Thanks for confirming. I tried to reproduce this locally and could not reproduce a total failure to store memories.

What I checked:

1. Confirmed my local checkout is on opencode-working-memory@1.6.9 and points to the current local plugin source, not an older npm/global install.
2. Confirmed project-level config loads the local plugin from both server and TUI config.
3. Added the same local plugin to global OpenCode config and verified with opencode debug config from a clean temp workspace that OpenCode resolves it as a global plugin.
4. Ran the relevant local test suites:
   • tests/extractors.test.ts: 65/65 passing
   • tests/plugin.test.ts: 77/77 passing
5. Ran an isolated temp-workspace workflow with XDG_DATA_HOME pointed at a temp directory:
   • user message: remember this: Issue 8 temp test should persist after compaction.
   • after experimental.chat.system.transform: memory was present in the pending journal
   • after session.compacted: memory was promoted into workspace-memory.json
   • result: persisted: true, workspace memory count went from 0 to 1
6. Also tested manually in the OpenCode TUI:
   • entered remember this repo is for test
   • triggered compaction
   • opened /memory -> Current workspace memories
   • the memory appeared there after compaction. I have a screenshot showing [M1] repo is for test and [M2] This repository is for test purposes. in the current workspace memories list.

So the current plugin code path appears to work in both deterministic hook tests and a manual TUI flow. This makes me suspect an environment-specific issue rather than the memory promotion path being completely broken.

Possible causes to check:

• Plugin conflict: another plugin may be replacing or mutating the compaction prompt, experimental.session.compacting, experimental.chat.system.transform, or session events.
• Plugin order: if another plugin runs after this one and overwrites output.prompt or system messages, memory candidates may never be emitted or parsed.
• Config scope mismatch: TUI may load the plugin but the server-side OpenCode config may not, or vice versa. /memory appearing only proves the TUI plugin loaded; memory storage requires the server plugin hooks too.
• Wrong config key or file: OpenCode expects plugin, not plugins, and current docs expect both .opencode/opencode.json and .opencode/tui.json for project config.
• Old cached/installed plugin: OpenCode may be resolving an older npm/cache copy instead of the expected local/latest plugin.
• Provider behavior: some OpenAI-compatible providers reject or mishandle multiple system messages. If you see errors like System message must be at the beginning, try mergeSystemMessages: true.
• Compaction output format: storage depends on the compaction summary containing a valid final Memory candidates: block, for example - [project] .... If the provider omits or reformats that block, no memory will be stored.
• No actual session.compacted event reaching the server plugin: explicit remember this entries stay pending until compaction/session cleanup promotes them.

Could you share the following, with secrets redacted?

Also please include the exact Memory candidates: section shown after compaction, if any, and the list/order of other plugins enabled in the same workspace.
