Refactor REST API to handle deployment / install / uninstall / purge in a more reliable way #710
Description
We plan to refactor the way we handle deployments and undeployments in the following way:
- Make purge a specific REST API Endpoint that will be fully synchronous
- For 4.x release it will be a temporary new endpoint in order to be backward compatible (see Add a new synchronous purge API endpoint #707)
- For the next 5.x releases after resolved Dissociate uninstall workflow from undeployment / purge #709 the
DELETE /deployments/<id>API endpoint should become the way to synchronously purge a deployment
- Dissociate submit of a deployment and start of the installation workflow (planned for 5.x) (see Dissociate submit of a deployment and start of the installation workflow #708)
- Dissociate uninstall workflow from undeployment / purge (planned for 5.x) (see Dissociate uninstall workflow from undeployment / purge #709)
