You will also need to change the settings, in
Settings->Pages, chooseGitHub Actions(gh-pages) instead ofDeploy from a branch.For more information about CI see https://github.com/rust-lang/mdBook/wiki/Automated-Deployment%3A-GitHub-Actions#github-pages-deploy.
It's quite difficult to review this since basically everything needs to be transformed, sorry about that.
Unfortunately changing my fork also broke the current link to it in
README.md.
