If a user were to show up to your website and land on a given page, the first load size represents the amount of javascript that user would need to download. If next/link is used, subsequent page loads would only need to download that page's bundle (the number in the "Size" column), since the global bundle has already been downloaded.

Hmm. I don't think we should let the people render arbitrary strings using our service. Also we don't want to get spammed or constantly use compute power. How is this usually solved? Can this just be done with a script that runs during the build and forces you to re-run it (for missing images) if some pages don't have them already checked-in? |

I've seen services that provide these API's to all users. Github's try tweaking the org name and repo name alone and you should see the other repo's og:image but since these are limited to github's repos and throws out github's icon when repo is not found I think our case is a bit unique We can generate images for every page but that would have too many assets to maintain. Instead we could serve the og:image once and cache it forever? (Also we don't want to get spammed or constantly use compute power - we might want to find some other solution? 🤔 ) |

Why is it a problem to have many assets in the repo? If they’re in a separate folder and don’t participate in the build process (they just lie around), I don’t see a downside. |
